Dental Crowns Full Veneers (Time scale 4-6 days)

A Dental crown is a type of cap that completely covers a real tooth. It’s made from either metal fused porcelain, or ceramic crowns, and is fixed in your mouth.

Used to strengthen, restore or improve the appearance of your natural tooth, a crown is fitted on the individual tooth much like a thimble over a finger. A crown is usually required when a tooth has been extensively weakened or restored, or when a tooth is cracked or broken. Crowns are usually placed on teeth where there is no longer sufficient tooth structure to support a filling.

Conventional crowns are made of porcelain, fused to a metal substructure. The latest advances in cosmetic dental materials have been made in the development of metal-free, ceramic crowns. The absence of metal allows for the construction of highly aesthetic, translucent crowns that imitate the characteristics of a natural tooth perfectly. Well-constructed and accurately fitting crowns can last several years.

We normally use crowns for the following reasons
  • Change the size, shape, color, or length of the teeth (smile makeover)
  • Cover misshaped or severely discoloured teeth
  • Restore a broken tooth or a severely worn-down tooth
  • Cover and support a tooth with a large filling and not much tooth remaining
  • Cover a dental implant
  • Hold a dental bridge in place.
  • Protect a weak tooth (for example, from decay) from breaking or to hold together parts of a cracked tooth

It is hard to spot a zirconia crown amongst natural teeth.

zirconia, a very strong material which is compatible with the human body. Zirconia is used in many other medical applications such as artificial joints and is known for its strength and durability

Plus, there is no fear about the body rejecting zirconia or displaying an allergic reaction to it. It is safe to use and preferred by many people to porcelain fused to metal crowns.

All our zirconium Porcelain are crafted in selected A grade laboratories that are known for dental excellence and accuracy. The quality of the Crowns themselves, combined with the skills of the Dental Technician is also vitally important to ensure a good end result. E-max© Crowns/Full Veneers (Premium)

E-max© crown are made from a single block of lithium disilicate ceramic. This is a top-grade material which has been harvested for its toughness, durability and opaque qualities which makes it a highly prized crown. Plus, it is considered a breakthrough in dental crown technology. There is no metal alloy base with this crown which means no unsightly looking grey line around the gum line.

E-max© crown is considered to be the best match with your own natural teeth. The transparent colour and lifelike shape ensure that it is unlikely to be noticed amongst your own natural teeth.

How is it different from the regular crown?

The main factors that differentiate the porcelain crown from E-max© is the aesthetics. As mentioned earlier. Looks wise, the porcelain crowns don’t always closely match the natural tooth colour. The advantages that an E-max© crown has over porcelain are its translucency, and we have over 30 tooth shades to choose from. The crown colour can be matched exactly to the colour of the teeth adjacent to where the crown will be placed.

Is there a downside to E-max© crowns?

There are certain points regarding E-max© crowns which should be kept in mind when deciding the crown restoration for your teeth. Front teeth usually don’t exert heavy forces during the chewing of food compared to the back teeth. So, in these areas, an E-max© crown is preferable.

E-max© crowns must be avoided in all cases where metal fillings are present. This is because the metal that the fillings are made from, may show up behind the crown making them look discoloured.

Also, since front teeth are the most visible ones, patients need crowns that exactly match the adjacent tooth colour. But in the posterior teeth or back teeth where masticatory forces are heavy, E-max©, should be avoided.

Why Should you go for the E-max©?

if cost factor comes next to durability while deciding, E-max © crowns should be the first option while choosing a crown restoration for your teeth There are many factors that determine the type of restoration you should go for.

Metal Porcelain Crowns/Full Veneers

Metal Porcelain Crowns are the combined product of porcelain and metal crowns. They are hard-wearing and cosmetically sound, but are not suitable for all. The core of the Crown itself is usually made from a nickel-based metal with an overlay of white porcelain fused to the outside in order to give a white natural appearance. Metal Porcelain Crowns we recommend that you replace them after 6-7 years to maintain the health of your teeth and gums. They are most suitable for use on the side or back teeth and for use over Dental Implants. Metals used in the preparation of metal-ceramic dental crowns are chromium or palladium, we no longer use nickel as a base metal for our metal crowns

All our Metal Porcelain are crafted in selected A grade laboratories that are known for dental excellence and accuracy. The quality of the Crowns themselves, combined with the skills of the Dental Technician is also vitally important to ensure a good end result. Our laboratories use only the very best materials that are sourced from across the globe.

Zirconia is made from zirconium dioxide (ZrO2), that belongs to the group of ceramic materials of high resistance the look is more aesthetically pleasing when you smile and therefore, we recommend using Zirconium/ Porcelain Crowns along your smile line. The key difference is that the base of metal-ceramic crowns is shaped by hand, while zirconia crowns are machine made with the help of computer-based 3D scanner, which leads to a much more precise fit of zirconia crown on the tooth. The metal-ceramic porcelain covers contain metal as a base, upon that metal, dental ceramic is applied in the laboratory and the form of the teeth is obtained. Metal itself, as a base of dental crown, represents a problem in obtaining excellent aesthetic results due to its grey colour. Metals used in the preparation of metal-ceramic dental crowns are chromium or palladium, we no longer use nickel as a base metal for our metal crowns. We recommend non-metal e-max © or zirconia crowns to all patients who can afford them, because they possess impeccable biocompatibility, physical properties and aesthetics. Combination of non-metal zirconia dental crowns in the anterior region of the jaw and metal-ceramic porcelain dental crowns in the posterior region of the jaw is often, and the noticed trend is that more and more people are choosing zirconia and E-max© dental crowns instead of metal ones.
